Aftercare

Remove the clingfilm as soon as you get home. Then, follow the below guidance twice a day for two weeks:

WASH

Wash either with warm water or warm soapy (make sure its mild) water (a shower counts as a wash). Don't rub it with a loofah, just use your hand.

DRY

Let the tattoo air dry or pat dry with kitchen towel.

OIL/CREAM

Apply oil/cream after each wash. I recommend either coconut oil (pure coconut oil, the same stuff used for cooking) or Palmer cocoa butter. Put a really thin layer over the tattoo - a little goes a long way!

Those steps will keep your tattoo clean while it heals. Always make sure it's clean before putting on more oil/cream; layering more aftercare on top of existing layers doesn't let your tattoo breath and could lead to irritation.

Wear loose clothing that covers it completely for the first 3 or so days of having it if you can, or leave uncovered to air. But no need to wrap in clingfilm unless you have to do something that puts the tattoo at risk of getting dirty/bashed i.e. your job.

Exercise is fine, just make sure its not sitting in sweat for long after you're done. Give it a wash after gym/sports.

It might still be a bit dry in the 3rd week, so you can moisturise with whatever you've been using, or regular moisturiser.

Please read on for some key DON'Ts during the first two weeks:

DON'T

submerge in water. A shower is fine, but avoid baths and swimming.

DON'T

sunbathe or expose to too much sun.

DON'T

scratch - a tattoo is a wound and it will itch while it heals.

DON'T

pick at any peeling

parts.
